About Brandon

Brandon Knudsen photograph

Brandon is a dedicated and service-oriented business leader who has over ten years of experience in the coffee shop industry. He was born and raised in California where he eventually met his wife and business partner, Camrin Knudsen, playing basketball at College of the Redwoods Junior College. Together, they both moved to Ashland, Oregon where they attended school and where Brandon continued to play basketball.

It was around that same time that both Brandon and Camrin decided they wanted to start their own business together after college. In 2003, they moved to Colorado to start their new adventure, first owning a small, pre-existing coffee shop in Thornton, Colorado, then eventually opening the first Ziggi’s Coffee location in Longmont, Colorado in 2004.

Brandon will tell you that he didn’t actively seek out the coffee business, rather it naturally chose him, thanks to the social nature of it and getting the chance to interact with various individuals and communities. Brandon’s passion for customer service and community support is not only evident through his business, but also outside of it, as he has been actively involved in his local community by holding a position on the Board of Directors for the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce for three years, leading the Skyline High School men’s basketball team as the head coach for four years, speaking at various small business panels and coaching youth club sport teams.

His favorite part about starting a locally owned and operated business in Colorado is the tremendous amount of support and positive energy Coloradoans have towards supporting small businesses and making sure they succeed.

Outside of Ziggi’s, Brandon enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf with his oldest son Elijah and raising their newest addition to the family, son Isaiah.

"My favorite part about owning Ziggi’s is getting to mentor our managers and franchisee owners to become great business leaders. Over the years, I’ve learned a lot about owning a small business through trial and error and it’s been a fun and exciting challenge sharing my insights and watching our managers become successful at running their own stores as well."

About Camrin

Camrin Knudsen photograph

Camrin is a passionate and detail-oriented business leader who has over ten years of experience in the coffee shop industry. She was born and raised in Alaska, but then moved to California, where she eventually met her husband and business partner, Brandon Knudsen, while playing basketball at College of the Redwoods Junior College. Together, they both moved to Ashland, Oregon where they attended school and where Camrin held her first barista position.

Having had parents who owned and operated their own business while growing up, Camrin decided, alongside Brandon, that they wanted to start their own business after college. In 2003, they moved to Colorado to start their new adventure, first owning a small, pre-existing coffee shop in Thornton, Colorado, then eventually opening the first Ziggi’s Coffee location in Longmont, Colorado in 2004.

Camrin’s favorite part about owning Ziggi’s in Colorado, is not only all the positive support they receive from residents wanting them to do well, but also getting to partner with other local businesses. When she’s not busy visiting each store and occasionally jumping behind the counter to help make drinks, Camrin loves spending time with her family and watching their oldest son, Elijah play sports, going on hikes, camping and enjoying the outdoors.

"My favorite part about our business is the relationships we’ve built with our customers, communities and employees over the years, as well as the flexibility of being a mom and getting to spend time with my two sons. My hope for our business is that we will eventually get to expand all over the state and that it becomes a well-known, strong enough company for our sons to take over some day.
